A Note from Deanna

If you know me, you know the only thing I might love more than aviation is nature.

Every morning, I sip my coffee and watch wildlife from the porch. This week, the wild turkeys have been gobbling and strutting around the field.

One bold tom even tried to square up with the school bus. He puffed up, spread his wings, and gave it everything he had to scare it off his land. I wish I had gotten a photo.

It made me laugh, but it also reminded me of something important: sometimes, confidence looks a little bit delusional. And that’s not a bad thing.

When you're going after your dream career, you have to show up like it’s already yours.

This week is packed with ways to help you do exactly that.

Who's Hiring Flight Attendants

Here’s why it’s a great entry point for new grads or anyone starting out:

Delta Pay Update
Delta flight attendants got a raise starting June 1. They now officially are ahead of American in pay, and United is trailing far behind.

I even recorded a boot video so you can see how they look on. These knee-high boots are perfect with your fall/winter uniform dress or skirt, even if you’ve got thicker calves like I do.

Tip Of The Week - Training is STILL Part of the Interview Process

One of our community members recently reached out and asked me to pass along a reminder:

“I just came from training, and after five weeks, I didn’t earn my wings. It's a reminder that even after you go through the entire process, until you walk across the stage and they pin your wings on you, it's never safe.”

They passed the interview. Filled out the paperwork. Showed up ready.

But they were sent home before graduation.

It happens more than you think.

Here’s the truth. You are not officially a flight attendant until your wings are pinned.
Even then, you're still being evaluated during probation, which usually lasts six months.

That’s why I created the Flight Attendant Training Prep Program, to help you walk in calm, confident, and ready to succeed.

You’ve come too far to leave this part to chance.

American Airlines Tail looking out Aircraft Door

Hello Reader, I hope you're having a great week so far. My highlight of the week? One of our community members invited me to the American Airlines Virtual Graduation, and I got emotional watching him get his wings. He started with one airline and upgraded to American, and I'm so proud to have played a small part in his journey through it all. I appreciate that American Airlines offers virtual graduation options for friends and family. When I graduated, my husband (then fiancé) flew standby...

Hello Reader, I hope you are having a great week so far. We’ve had friends visiting from out of state, and it’s been so nice to slow down and enjoy the wildlife through fresh eyes. A robin built her nest in one of the barns, and this week, the eggs hatched, tiny, fuzzy baby birds just starting out. My friend got this amazing picture and it made me think of all the aspiring flight attendants in our community. I call you my baby birds, and this space is your nest. You’re growing and preparing,...

Hello Reader, I've been trying to snap a photo of Tom Turkey, whom I mentioned last week, but he’s too smart. He knows it’s hunting season so he won't let me get close. I’m relieved; he’s too exquisite to end up on anyone’s table. Now we have a new pair of visitors: two Canadian geese are scouting the property, looking for the perfect place to lay their eggs. I hope they choose our home. I would love to see a few goslings waddling around. The geese got me thinking: we’re all searching for the...
