✈️ Flexibility Is the Flight Attendant Superpower | Crew Briefing

Hello Reader,

Welcome to this week’s update.

I want to take a moment to acknowledge the Spirit flight attendants and everyone affected by the recent changes. Spirit was a unique airline with a special place in the industry, and its departure is truly felt. My heart goes out to everyone affected by the Spirit shutdown.

Things always change in aviation, and it’s a wild ride. I always say the only thing concrete in aviation is the runway.I’ll never forget when my airline merged with another; it was never the same, but it did create opportunities.

The airline grew, and with that came many growing pains, but it also brought new routes, enabling me to make a much shorter commute, and I could hold much more productive trips. (That means they were more work, longer flights, less sit time between flights, and ultimately more money.)

So there are always pluses and minuses, but in the end, things always seem to work out.

Change is never easy, but it often leads to new possibilities we couldn't have imagined.

💡 Tip of the Week - Flexibility is Your Superpower

Flexibility is the foundation of being a flight attendant. This isn’t just advice for landing the job—flexibility will serve you throughout your entire aviation career.

Schedules change, operations become irregular quick, and what starts as a five-hour duty day can quickly turn into a fourteen-hour one.

Spirit was here one day and gone the next—reminding us just how unpredictable this industry can be.

To thrive, it helps to embrace the mindset that whatever happens is meant to happen. This is where the burnt toast theory comes in.

The idea is simple: if you burn your toast in the morning and it makes you late, that delay might have saved you from something worse down the road. Sometimes, what feels like a setback is actually a twist of fate in your favor.

In aviation, as in life, you may not always see the reason right away, but trust that things happen for a reason, even if you can’t see it yet. So keep moving forward and listen to your intuition, it won’t lead you astray.

🛍️ Amazon Storefront & Pick of the Week - A Travel Fan

As temperatures rise, nothing ruins a polished look faster than sweating—especially when you’re heading to an interview or working on a hot aircraft. You can’t always control your environment, but you can show up prepared.

Personally, I never go anywhere in the summer without a portable fan. If you’ve ever worn a polyester-wool uniform on a sweltering plane, you know just how quickly you can go from polished to melted.

My fan is a total lifesaver in those moments.

The exact fan I use has doubled in price lately, so I’m sharing a great alternative. If you’re set on the original (it’s pink, of course!), you’ll still find it in the same list.

This little fan has saved me more times than I can count. It even doubles as a phone charger and flashlight (a required duty item).

You can check that out and more in my Amazon Big Spring Sale picks section, of the storefront HERE.

The storefront has interview outfits, flight attendant must haves, shoes, and more.

🎙️Final Boarding Announcement

As we wrap up this week’s message, consider this your final boarding call: stay flexible, embrace new opportunities, and keep moving forward. Your next adventure is just ahead.

Thanks for joining me for this week’s Crew Briefing.

If you know anyone who can benefit from this information, you can share it by forwarding this email.

Wheels up!
