Hello Reader, Welcome to this week’s Crew Briefing. This week is a reminder that you do not need perfect circumstances to take care of yourself. You just need a few simple habits and a couple of smart tools. Today we are talking about rest, naps, and being comfortable even when the operation is not. Summer is coming, and I don’t need a crystal ball to tell me there will be meltdowns. They seem to happen every single summer at different airlines. 🛫 Who’s Hiring Flight AttendantsAllegiant opened applications for Fort Lauderdale (FLL). For those unfamiliar, Allegiant is a turn airline, which means you only do one-day trips and are home in your own bed every night. 🇺🇸 US Applicants 🇪🇺🇬🇧 Europe & UK Applicants Please browse the Cabin Crew Careers Page for new listings. 📌 Reminder: You must already be legally eligible to work in the country you’re applying to. Bookmark your page and check often so you never miss an application window. 💺 This Week at Future Flight AttendantI get emails every day from future flight attendants asking for personalized career guidance, application strategy, and what to do next. I love helping, and the place where I can provide that level of one-on-one support is inside the Flight Attendant Resume Service. The Resume Service currently has one spot left. I tailor your resume specifically for flight attendant roles and position your experience in a way that airlines respond to. Resume clients also receive personalized interview prep and full access to the Flight Attendant Interview Masterclass, so you are supported through every step of the hiring process, not just one moment. You can find more information below: ➡️ Flight Attendant Resume Service What students are saying: “You did a great job, Deanna. I would highly recommend this Masterclass to anyone who is truly serious about becoming an F/A; it's worth the money!! I can tell you really care about people winning, it truly shows through your high-quality, thorough work!! I have no regrets going through the course/modules. Thank you!!”
💡 Tip of the Week - NapsOne of the most underrated skills you can build in your first year of flying is learning how to nap. Your schedule will not always give you perfect sleep. You will have early reports, late releases, delays, short rest, constant time zone changes, and days where everything changes. The flight attendants who do well long-term are the ones who learn how to grab rest whenever they can. If you are not naturally good at napping, now is the time to practice. Start small. Even 20 to 40 minutes can change your whole day. A short nap can help you recover, protect your immune system, and keep your mood steady, which matters more than people realize, especially during probation. And if you want one practical tip, do not wait until you are desperate to rest. Take a nap when the opportunity arises so you can build a bit of a surplus in your sleep bank. Rest now, so you do not crash later. Next week, we are going even deeper into protecting your health and building a rest routine that works with the flight attendant lifestyle, not against it. 🛍️ Amazon Storefront & Pick of the Week*As an Amazon Associate, Future Flight Attendant earns from qualifying purchases. Pick of the Week: Klymit Mat Many airlines have had meltdowns and crews have been stranded without a hotel. It’s wild, but it happens. When it does, I want to be comfortable regardless. Comfort is non-negotiable for me, and the Klymit delivers that without the bulk. ➡️ Klymit Mat Also, if you want a full checklist of essentials, I included it in my Flight Attendant Must Haves blog post. It’s a great reference if you’re building your bag for the first time or even for seasoned flight attendants. ➡️ Flight Attendant Must aves blog post: HERE. Rest is not a reward; it is a requirement. Learning to nap is one of the most practical skills you can build in your first year. It protects your health, your mood, and your ability to show up consistently, especially during probation. Start small, stay consistent, and remember that taking care of yourself is part of the job, not separate from it. Hello Reader, If you’re reading this mid-flight, on a layover, or dreaming of the day you will be, welcome back. I’ve been deep in writing mode the last few weeks, racing to finish a book proposal before a June 5th deadline. Last fall, I gifted myself a spot in a prestigious writing program, and it’s a contest for the program participants. If you’ve been around here a while, you know storytelling is kind of my thing. This is book one of a trilogy, and there is a lot of flight attendant stuff...
Hello Reader, Welcome to week two of March. We have officially shifted into longer days, which always feels like a fresh start, even if you are still attached to winter like I am. March is what I call probation season. Did you know that during your first six months of flying, you are usually on probation? That is the window where you protect your record by staying reliable. Perfect attendance and on-time performance go a long way. Habits that make professionalism feel automatic. We are...
Hello Reader, ✈️ Welcome Aboard Welcome to March, one of the most meaningful months in my journey as a flight attendant. Lately, my classmates and I have been celebrating our 20-Year Anniversary, reminiscing about the day we first donned our wings. We started training on January 28, 2006, and I’ll never forget the excitement, and nerves, as we graduated on March 1. That's me on the top right looking out the window of the cabin trainer. Happy 20th Anniversary, 0604! Thinking back, I’m reminded...
