✈️ A Black Eagle, Who’s Hiring, and This Week’s Tip | Crew Briefing

Hello Reader,

I believe there is always a message in everything if we are willing to look for it. I love all animals, but I have a special fondness for winged ones, the feathered kind and the big metal birds that serve as our offices in the sky.

This week I spotted a black eagle, only the second I’ve ever seen. It was massive and unforgettable, a reminder that even when life feels heavy, there is beauty in the lessons we carry forward.

For those of you navigating interviews right now, remember that every step, even the difficult ones, is moving you closer to where you are meant to be.

Tip of the Week - Stay Sharp: No Wrinkles Allowed

There’s nothing worse than arriving at an interview or flight in a wrinkled outfit. Looking polished begins with being wrinkle-free.

Irons, especially hotel irons, can be risky.

I’ve ruined uniforms because of gunk on the plate or from polyester-wool fabric burning shiny when the heat was too high. Even ironing inside out didn’t always save me. Lesson learned!

Instead, I suggest using a steamer. It’s gentle on your uniform and interview outfit fabrics, heats up rapidly, and won’t leave that unwanted shine. Just be cautious; a good steamer gets very hot, so watch your hands.

On-the-go fixes:

  • Wrinkle releaser spray is a great backup option.
  • In a pinch, I’ve hung my uniform in a hot hotel shower. It works, but it wastes water, so I don’t recommend it unless you’re desperate.

The bottom line: however you do it, make sure your uniform is wrinkle-free. It’s one of the simplest ways to look polished and professional.

Check out the Polished Look Essentials section of the Future Flight Attendant Amazon Storefront for my favorite steamers and wrinkle-busting must-haves.

Hello Reader, I hope you're having a great week so far. It’s the first week of October, and I have to admit, I’ve been decorating for Halloween all week. I keep my tree out all year, and either decorate it or leave it plain, it saves me time and the effort of packing and unpacking. I’ve done enough packing and unpacking as a flight attendant! I like to look at pretty things that make me feel happy and magical. I might have gotten a little carried away, but fall is my favorite time of year. I...

Hello Reader, Fall started on Monday, and I’m super excited for spooky season! It’s my favorite time of year, and the leaves are already starting to change here in the Appalachian Mountains. The view from an aircraft window this time of year, especially if you're flying to the East Coast, is incredible. Hello Reader, Today, we pause to honor the memory of September 11, 2001. The courage of flight crews on that day continues to inspire many of us in this career, and their legacy, which we carry forward. On a personal note, I had a freak accident and broke my toe recently (ouch!), so if things feel a little quieter than usual, thank you for your patience.
