Who's Hiring Flight AttendantsHere is your weekly reminder to check out the Future Flight Attendant Job Board to see who's hiring! 🇺🇸 US Applicants: Future Flight Attendant Job Board 🇪🇺 🇬🇧 Europe & UK Applicants: Cabin Crew Careers Page This Week at Future Flight AttendantThis week, let’s talk about something that makes a difference in your success as a flight attendant: professional presence. Whether you're applying for your first airline or eyeing a leadership role like Purser, how you show up matters. That includes your resume, your interview answers, and your energy on the job. Treating every flight like your own small business makes you the best flight attendant you can be. Inside the Future Flight Attendant Course & Coaching Program, we help you build that presence from the ground up so that when recruiters see you, they feel your confidence and leadership potential. Tip of the Week: Purser Flight AttendantLet’s talk about one of the most underappreciated and often misunderstood roles on the aircraft: Purser, also known as the Lead Flight Attendant, FSM, ISM, or the “A” flight attendant. 👜 Where does the name come from? The term Purser dates back to maritime travel. The Purser was the crew member who carried the ship’s purse and was responsible for handling money, supplies, and records. The name carried over into aviation, but let’s be honest: it’s outdated. I prefer the title Flight Service Manager (FSM) or International Service Manager (ISM); it sounds more aligned with modern leadership and service excellence, which this role demands. What does a Purser do today? The Purser oversees the cabin operation, manages the crew, is in charge of announcements, communicates with the flight deck and agents, and ensures safety and service standards are met. You’re not just in charge; you’re the heart of the flight experience. 💸 Does it pay more? Yes! International Pursers complete specialized training and are often selected for long-term positions, earning extra pay and leadership status. Domestic Pursers are still in charge of the flight, but this is not equivalent to the status of the International Purser. While the pay increase for domestic Purser is smaller, it still adds up by the end of the month if you consistently fly that position! Domestic vs. International Purser: ✈️ Domestic Purser: Anyone can work the position. You greet passengers at the door, lead the team, and keep everything flowing. It’s a leadership opportunity, even if flight attendants often avoid it. 🌎 International Purser: Think of it as an elevated management role. You must apply, interview, train, and commit like a promotion. You even manage breaks and ensure the flight runs properly and professionally. My take: Purser is my FAVORITE position. You set the energy. You are responsible for creating a friendly, professional, enjoyable tone. And yes, greeting passengers warmly at the door? Non-negotiable. Silence at the door sets a cold tone. Want to be seen as a leader and step confidently into these roles? Inside the Future Flight Attendant Course & Coaching Program, we help you get there with the mindset, tools, and polish to stand out from day one.
