Hello Reader, If you’ve been around here for any length of time, you may have noticed that the Future Flight Attendant website has undergone a huge refresh lately. There’s a reason for that. I decided to work with a business coach because FFA means so much to me, and I want to build it into the best resource it can be for aspiring, new, and even current flight attendants. I still do the work. A lot of it. But having an experienced professional look at my business from the outside has helped me see things I could not always see as clearly while I was in the middle of running it every day. And then I have to take that guidance and actually do something with it. That is a big part of what has been happening behind the scenes. I’ve been refreshing the website, improving the visitor experience, reorganizing resources, and completely redesigning the Flight Attendant Job Board to make it easier for you to find what you need. Professional guidance does not replace the work. It helps you focus your work where it can make the biggest difference. I think the same thing holds true when you’re pursuing a career as a flight attendant. You can be smart, capable, motivated, and willing to work hard and still benefit from someone helping you see the process from a perspective you simply do not have yet. So here’s my question for you this week: Are you spending your time focusing on what will actually improve your chances? Let’s get into this week’s Crew Briefing. 🛫 Who’s Hiring Flight AttendantsThere is a lot happening in flight attendant hiring right now. 🇺🇸American Airlines is scheduled to open flight attendant applications on October 5. 🌐 United Airlines is still accepting regular flight attendant applications, with the posting scheduled to close on October 8. If United is on your list, I would not wait until the final day. ✈️ Allegiant also opened flight attendant positions in several locations this week. I sent a separate hiring alert yesterday with the details. For the complete, up-to-date U.S. hiring list and direct application links, visit the Future Flight Attendant Job Board.
🇪🇺🇬🇧 Europe & UK Applicants, please browse the Cabin Crew Careers Page for current opportunities.
📌 Reminder: You must already be legally eligible to work in the country where you’re applying. As I mentioned earlier, I completely redesigned the Flight Attendant Job Board during the recent FFA site refresh, and I would love your feedback. When you take a look, tell me one thing: Is the new Job Board easier to use? Hit reply and let me know. 💺 This Week at Future Flight AttendantThe American Airlines Flight Attendant Hiring Process With American Airlines scheduled to open flight attendant applications on October 5, now is a good time to understand what happens after you hit submit. I recently updated the American Airlines Flight Attendant Hiring Process Guide with the current application process, assessment, interviews, in-person experience, training, and what candidates can expect as they move through each stage. Knowing the process is one thing. Knowing how to prepare for it is another.
If American is one of your target airlines, do not wait until an interview invitation arrives to start figuring out how to prepare. The Flight Attendant Interview Masterclass gives you a structured preparation system for the hiring process, so you can stop piecing together scattered advice and focus on the work that can actually improve your interview performance. You still have to do the work. The Masterclass helps make sure you are doing the right work.
💡 Tip of the Week: Answer the Question They Asked, Not Just the One You PracticedOne of the easiest ways to hurt a strong interview answer is to be so focused on what you practiced that you stop listening to what the interviewer is actually asking. You may have a great example ready, but if it does not answer the question in front of you, forcing it into your response can make the answer feel rehearsed or off-topic. Listen to the entire question before you start deciding what you are going to say. It is okay to take a moment to think. Good preparation should help you feel familiar with your own experiences and more confident talking about them. It should not lock you into memorized answers that only work when the interviewer asks exactly what you expected. Preparation should make you more flexible, not more scripted. The goal is not to deliver the answer you practiced. The goal is to answer the question you were actually asked. 🛍️ Amazon Storefront & Pick of the WeekAs an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. A luggage lock adds a simple layer of security while you are in transit, at a hotel, on a shuttle, or anywhere your bag may be temporarily out of sight. These SURE LOCK cable locks are one of my favorite options. I use this lock myself when I travel, and the flexible cable makes it easy to use on different types of baggage. Plus, the three-number combination is easy to use. They are also useful long after the interview is over. Flight attendants spend a lot of time moving through airports, hotels, crew transportation, and shared spaces. A good lock is one of those small travel essentials that can stay in your flight attendant baggage for years.
🎙️ Final Boarding AnnouncementAt the beginning of this Crew Briefing, I told you what hiring a business coach has reminded me: Professional guidance does not replace the work. You still have to do the work. What it can do is help you see where your effort will make the biggest difference. The same is true when you are preparing for a flight attendant interview. You can spend hours collecting tips, trying every strategy, and rehearsing your answers, but more preparation doesn’t always mean better preparation. The question is whether you are working on the things that will actually help you perform better when the airline asks you to show them who you are. American Airlines is scheduled to open applications in just a few days. If you are serious about getting hired, make your preparation intentional.

Crew Briefing Hello Reader, Halloween is well underway over here at FFA HQ. My cat Dex got his wings! Everyone else is getting their wings, and he wanted some too. I found him in a parking lot under a car screaming when he was only a few days old. Dexter loves wearing his wings and being spooky. With the pumpkins and decorations around him, he fits right in. Being a flight attendant changed the way I celebrate the holidays. When you don’t know whether you’ll be home on the holiday itself, you...
October 15, 2026 | Crew Briefing Hello Reader, The fall festivities are continuing over here, and this week I wanted to share another little behind-the-scenes glimpse. That little red building in the photo is the smokehouse. My dream is to get it set up again so we can use it as an "outdoor" kitchen. The leaves are getting ready to peak, and I'm out taking pictures every day. I’ve been getting emails from a lot of you saying you’re enjoying these personal pictures, and I’m thrilled. Most of...
