Hello Reader, Halloween is well underway over here at FFA HQ. My cat Dex got his wings! Everyone else is getting their wings, and he wanted some too. I found him in a parking lot under a car screaming when he was only a few days old. Dexter loves wearing his wings and being spooky. With the pumpkins and decorations around him, he fits right in. Being a flight attendant changed the way I celebrate the holidays. When you don’t know whether you’ll be home on the holiday itself, you start finding other ways to enjoy it. For me, that became celebrating the whole month. Early in your career, you won’t have much control over your schedule. It’s one reason I talk about seniority so much. Having more say over your time makes a difference in your quality of life. But life doesn’t have to stay on hold while you build it. There are still choices you can make, traditions you can enjoy, and ways to take care of yourself along the way. This week, we’re talking about preparing for your next step and taking care of yourself when you get there. Let’s get into this week’s Crew Briefing. 🛫 Who’s Hiring Flight AttendantsLooking for your next flight attendant opportunity? You Can Prepare for What’s Next.Waiting for an airline to move your application forward can feel like everything is out of your hands. But you don’t have to wait for an invitation to start preparing. The Flight Attendant Interview Success Program gives you structured preparation for the entire hiring process, access to me for questions and support, weekly coaching emails, and a community to connect with along the way. Whether you’re applying for the first time, preparing for an upcoming interview, or trying again after a rejection, you’ll have a guided path to confidently communicate your experience and strengths.
Already Have Your CJO? Get Ready for Training. You worked hard to earn your conditional job offer. Now it’s time to prepare for the next step toward your wings. Initial flight attendant training brings a demanding schedule, testing, hands-on evaluations, and plenty of new information. Your airline teaches you safety and service procedures. The Flight Attendant Training Prep Program helps you prepare for the pace, pressure, and demands of training so you can arrive ready to learn. If you’re waiting for your training date, this is a good time to begin.
On the Blog: Find Your Next Pair of Flight Attendant ShoesBest Flight Attendant Shoes For Interviews, For Training, & For Work Have an interview coming up? Heading to training? Already flying and tired of aching feet? Choose shoes for your interview that you can also wear through training and on the job. Buying the right pair from the start saves you money and gives you one less thing to figure out before training. This post covers women’s and men’s styles, airline requirements, and comfortable inflight options for those long days on your feet. Read the post before choosing your next pair. 💡 Tip of the Week: The Holidays Are When You Make ThemAs a flight attendant, you can expect to work most holidays early in your career, until you build enough seniority to hold some of them off. Working a holiday doesn’t mean you have to miss out on celebrating it. A little flexibility can help you make those traditions fit your flight attendant schedule. If you’re flying on Halloween, you can still make time for the things you love about it. Plan the movie night, wear the costume, or get together with your favorite people on a day that works for you. This is especially helpful when your kids are young. They’re more interested in the costumes, treats, and time with you than the date on the calendar. Get the whole family involved. Celebrate early, celebrate late, or have a second celebration when you’re home. Let some of those plans revolve around you and your days off. Don’t be afraid to make it about you, too. You work hard, and you deserve to be included, celebrated, and there for the fun. Your celebration doesn’t have to depend on having October 31, or any other holiday, off. 🛍️ Amazon Storefront & Pick of the WeekAs an Amazon Associate, Future Flight Attendant earns from qualifying purchases. Preparing for an interview, heading to training, or already flying? The Future Flight Attendant Amazon Storefront brings together interview outfits, shoes, luggage, training essentials, and flight attendant must-haves to make shopping easier.
Pick of the Week: Compression Socks & HoseReserve is often harder than holding a line. You’re covering a lot of the flying no one else wants, and your schedule can be all over the place. You could work a red-eye one day and have a 4 a.m. check-in another. You might report for airport standby in the morning and end up heading out on an international trip late that night. Not every day looks like that, but plenty do. It’s a lot to get used to. That’s why I chose compression socks and hose as this week’s pick. Take care of yourself wherever you can. Good shoes are something you never skimp on, but they can’t do it all at 30,000 feet. Compression socks and hose help support your legs and keep them from getting so fatigued. The compression section of the FFA Amazon Storefront explains compression and has plenty of choices to help you take care of those hardworking legs.
And if you need good shoes to go with them, visit the flight attendant shoe guide featured earlier in this issue. 🎙️ Final Boarding AnnouncementYou won’t get to choose every part of your flight attendant schedule, especially in the beginning. But you still get to make choices that move you toward the life you want. That starts before you’re hired. You can’t choose when the next interview invitation arrives. You can choose to prepare now, so you’re ready to make the most of it. The Flight Attendant Interview Success Program gives you a guided preparation path, access to me for questions and support, weekly coaching emails, and a community to support you along the way. Make room for the career you want. Give yourself the preparation to pursue it with confidence.

October 15, 2026 | Crew Briefing Hello Reader, The fall festivities are continuing over here, and this week I wanted to share another little behind-the-scenes glimpse. That little red building in the photo is the smokehouse. My dream is to get it set up again so we can use it as an "outdoor" kitchen. The leaves are getting ready to peak, and I'm out taking pictures every day. I’ve been getting emails from a lot of you saying you’re enjoying these personal pictures, and I’m thrilled. Most of...

Hello Reader, If you’ve been around here for any length of time, you may have noticed that the Future Flight Attendant website has undergone a huge refresh lately. There’s a reason for that. I decided to work with a business coach because FFA means so much to me, and I want to build it into the best resource it can be for aspiring, new, and even current flight attendants. I still do the work. A lot of it. But having an experienced professional look at my business from the outside has helped...
