Hello Reader, There’s a moment in this process when everything you’ve been working toward suddenly becomes real. The application turns into an interview. The interview turns into a CJO. And before you know it, you’re looking at a training date and realizing, Oh. I actually have to do this now. That shift can be exciting, but it can also bring an entirely new set of questions. What do I pack? What will training really be like? How much should I prepare ahead of time? What happens if I don’t feel ready? That’s why I’ve always believed there’s a difference between getting an opportunity and being prepared for it. Both are important. This week, we’re talking about what comes next, from airlines that are hiring now and another major application window coming soon, to what you should know before you ever zip up your bag for flight attendant training. Let’s get into this week’s Crew Briefing. 🛫 Who’s Hiring Flight AttendantsHorizon Air is hiring flight attendants, with openings currently posted for several bases, including Seattle, Portland, Boise, Spokane, Anchorage, Everett, and Las Vegas. Horizon lists October 25 as the closing date. I wouldn’t wait that long. Flight attendant postings can disappear early, so if Horizon is on your list, apply when you’re ready. And if you’ve been waiting on American Airlines, October 5 is still the expected opening date for flight attendant applications. That gives you a little time to make sure your resume, application information, interview outfit, passport details, and employment history are organized before applications open. The Future Flight Attendant Job Board is updated regularly so you don’t have to hunt through individual airline career sites trying to figure out who is hiring.
Looking for opportunities outside the United States? Cabin Crew Careers is also updated with current cabin crew openings in the UK and Europe.
This Week's Crew Briefing Sponsor: 1440Flight attendants work in a global profession, and staying informed matters. 1440 makes it easier to keep up with what’s happening in the world without spending your whole day scrolling through the news. 💺 This Week at Future Flight AttendantIf you have a flight attendant training date on the calendar, one of the first questions is usually: What do I actually need to bring? I just updated my free Flight Attendant Training Packing List to help you think through what belongs in your luggage, what can make hotel living easier, and what you may want to leave at home. Your airline’s official training packet always comes first, but having a general plan ahead of time can make the final days before training much less stressful.
Packing is one part of getting ready. Actually preparing for the pace, expectations, studying, testing, and day-to-day reality of flight attendant training is another. That’s exactly why I created the Flight Attendant Training Prep Program, and it just received a major upgrade. If you’re already a student, go back into the program and take another look. There’s a lot more waiting for you now. If you haven’t enrolled yet, use code TRAINING20 by October 1, 2026, to save $20 and get the Training Prep Program for $59.
Have a Question About One of My Programs? Not sure which Future Flight Attendant program or service is right for where you are in your flight attendant journey? Reply to this email and ask me. Tell me a little about where you are in the process and which program you’re considering, and I’ll help you determine whether it’s the right fit for you. 💡 Tip of the WeekFlight attendant training moves fast, and trying to figure out how you study best once you’re already there is not ideal. Before training starts, pay attention to how you actually retain information. Do you remember more when you write things down? Say them out loud? Quiz yourself? Review a little at a time? Training can mean long days, testing, drills, homework, and a lot of information coming at you at once. The more you know about how you learn before you arrive, the easier it is to build a study routine that actually works for you. 🛍️ Storefront & PickAs an Amazon Associate, Future Flight Attendant may earn from qualifying purchases. The Future Flight Attendant Amazon Storefront is organized around the things aspiring and new flight attendants actually need, including training essentials, interview essentials, travel must-haves, and everyday flight attendant favorites. This week’s pick is the Scrubba Wash Bag. If you’re in training for several weeks, laundry can become one more thing to manage. The Scrubba makes it easy to wash a few items right in your hotel room and takes up very little room in your luggage. It’s useful during training, on the line, and anytime you’re traveling light.

If you’re already headed to training, make this the week you get organized, review what your airline has sent you, and start thinking about how you’ll manage the pace once training begins. And if you’re still working toward your CJO, the Flight Attendant Interview Masterclass is here to help you prepare for the interview process before you reach the next stage. Crew Briefing Hello Reader, Halloween is well underway over here at FFA HQ. My cat Dex got his wings! Everyone else is getting their wings, and he wanted some too. I found him in a parking lot under a car screaming when he was only a few days old. Dexter loves wearing his wings and being spooky. With the pumpkins and decorations around him, he fits right in. Being a flight attendant changed the way I celebrate the holidays. When you don’t know whether you’ll be home on the holiday itself, you...
October 15, 2026 | Crew Briefing Hello Reader, The fall festivities are continuing over here, and this week I wanted to share another little behind-the-scenes glimpse. That little red building in the photo is the smokehouse. My dream is to get it set up again so we can use it as an "outdoor" kitchen. The leaves are getting ready to peak, and I'm out taking pictures every day. I’ve been getting emails from a lot of you saying you’re enjoying these personal pictures, and I’m thrilled. Most of...
