Hello Reader, I blinked, and here we are in November. This season always reminds me how quickly things can shift in aviation, schedules change, trips get reassigned, and airports adjust operations. It's simply the nature of the industry. Every flight attendant learns this early on: Seniority is protection. It determines your schedule, your holidays and days off, your base and bid preferences, your trips and destinations, and yes, your pay protection when flights or operations change. Line holders are pay-protected when trips fall apart. Reserves don’t have that luxury. These realities are why getting hired sooner truly matters. The earlier you begin, the sooner you start building seniority, and the more freedom and choice you’ll have in your career. 💺 This Week at Future Flight AttendantI have officially entered my sourdough era! I decided to make my own starter rather than buy one because I love this old farmhouse with all of its rustic charm, and wanted to see what it could give me. I fed it, adjusted, watched it closely, and waited. It took more than a month for it to become active and strong. Now, I'm learning the dough itself. My loaves have been delicious flops, but each one teaches me something important. While shaping the dough, I realized something crucial: I would have learned this process much faster if someone had stood beside me to show me the ropes. The same goes for the flight attendant hiring process. There are things you cannot see from the outside, patterns you do not know to look for, and adjustments you would never think to make on your own. That’s where the Interview Masterclass Bundle comes in. It removes the guesswork and gives you the structure to approach the hiring process with confidence. And there’s something new inside the Masterclass: You now have a dedicated space to post your interview outfit and receive personalized feedback. I quickly grabbed two black tea bags, soaked them in cold water, and placed them directly on the burn. Because of the tea bags, his hand did not blister, and from the sound of it, it surely would have had I not gotten him the tea bags. The tea trick is something I discovered years ago in the galley when I burned my hand on the oven. I was suffering and I saw a cup of water and a tea bag. I was desperate to cool the burn so I put the two together and it worked like a charm! If you put a latex glove over it and keep it on as long as you can, the tea bag will work its magic. Black tea contains tannins that draw heat from the skin and ease pain quickly, while also supporting the healing process. And there will always be black tea and gloves on the aircraft. Remember this. Use it. It works. 🛍 Amazon Storefront Pick: Door Alarm WedgeYour safety is paramount. The Door Alarm Wedge adds a layer of comfort and peace on every layover. Hello Reader, If you’re reading this mid-flight, on a layover, or dreaming of the day you will be, welcome back. I’ve been deep in writing mode the last few weeks, racing to finish a book proposal before a June 5th deadline. Last fall, I gifted myself a spot in a prestigious writing program, and it’s a contest for the program participants. If you’ve been around here a while, you know storytelling is kind of my thing. This is book one of a trilogy, and there is a lot of flight attendant stuff...
Hello Reader, Welcome to this week’s Crew Briefing. This week is a reminder that you do not need perfect circumstances to take care of yourself. You just need a few simple habits and a couple of smart tools. Today we are talking about rest, naps, and being comfortable even when the operation is not. Summer is coming, and I don’t need a crystal ball to tell me there will be meltdowns. They seem to happen every single summer at different airlines. 🛫 Who’s Hiring Flight Attendants Allegiant...
Hello Reader, Welcome to week two of March. We have officially shifted into longer days, which always feels like a fresh start, even if you are still attached to winter like I am. March is what I call probation season. Did you know that during your first six months of flying, you are usually on probation? That is the window where you protect your record by staying reliable. Perfect attendance and on-time performance go a long way. Habits that make professionalism feel automatic. We are...
